Sudbury Wedding Planning... Site check in Sudbury...
This week Jessy and I had the pleasure of driving to Sudbury to do a site check for an upcoming wedding in April. Angela Padutti is celebrating her special day in her home town of Sudbury at Science Center North. Now being a 'northern Ontario' girl myself, and since Sudbury is only half way to my home town of Sault Ste Marie, the drive was not to long.. Jessy our city savvy office manager however, wondered when it would end! The trip would not have been complete without stopping at the trading post in French River. (truth is, we just had to use the bathroom!) Angela is the owner of one of Barrie's finest catering businesses called Cravings. We had the honor of tasting some of her incredible food when she catered the opening of our store in Caledon. The venue, Science Center North, is a fabulous location to host a wedding. Guests will be wowed as they walk through a candle lit rock cave-like tunnel to get to a much larger rock walled room. The rock walls are the real deal... bedrock blasted right out of the Canadian cambrian sheild! I can't give away to many secrets... but just know its going to be beautiful! Watch for pictures of how we will transform this geographical wonder to an enchanted and elegant wedding! Thankyou Angela and Craig for giving us such a wonderful opportunity!
Caledon Event Decor... Caledon Chamber of Commerce business achievement awards...
Rachel A. Clingen Design was thrilled to sponsor this event. We lined the walls in Caesars banquet center with black velvet to create and intimate yet sophisticated feel. The look was edgy with our french pattern black and white linen. Our crystal globes sparkled high above a mound of fresh tulips, green roses, spider mums and orchids. We love our new chic chrome urns. We filled them with green tulips, orchids and roses which welcomed guests and also created the focal point on stage. The stage area was unique as it was three dimensional. Panels of the black and white french pattern and a fabulous mirror created a great focal point in the room. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners of this years awards!

Toronto Wedding Decor... Whimsical and White, Soft and Sophisticated...

We were thrilled when Crystal, one of Toronto's finest wedding planners from Distinct Occasions told us that she submitted a wedding that we worked on together to one of my favorite wedding blogs. Style Me Pretty featured our work and we are excited to share the pictures with you! Our famous hand made floral topiary balls are always eye candy, but the truth is, while I would like to take credit for the beauty of these shots, it is apparent to all who view them that the photography is stunning! Erika and Ryan at Rowell Photography were kind enough to send along the wonderful photographs that capture the softness and elegance of this special day! Thankyou and best wishes to the lovely couple Carmine and Ele for being such amazing clients.

Spring blooms! Tulips, Tulips, Tulips!
Well those of us that live in southern Ontario just enjoyed a few days of 'a taste of spring'. The reality is though, being Canadian, we are well aquainted with spring 'teasers' and know all to well that there is still a possibility of even a snow storm in March! But for a short time the sun was warm and if you looked real hard in your gardens, you might have even notice a few of those bulb flowers beginning to peak their heads up out of the soil. Spring weddings excite me for a few reasons. Obviously it is the start of another busy year doing what I love.. but also it is a reminder of newness, of life and of renewal. I am always amazed how the brown dead grass soon becomes lush and green, how the spring bulbs that lay dormant in the frozen earth rise again with newness of life. To me, it is a reminder of a Creator who is was the ultimate 'designer'! Enjoy the pictures of one of our previous spring weddings at Eagles Nest Golf Club. The ceremony and reception where held in the same room so it was up to us to create a warm intimate atmosphere for the ceremony while hiding the remainder of the room. We created a room within a room with walls of white sheer which was a sharp backdrop for our beautiful fresh tulips that marked the aisle and created the focal point for the ceremony. Later when the walls were torn down to reveal the dinner setting, the ceremony urns were placed behind the head table. Keep checking back as I will be posting some weddings in April.

Kailley loves our new crystal!

Kailley and Alexs' wedding is next new years eve and we are thrilled to play a role in their special day. They are my first clients to book our new line up of hanging crystal pieces. Kailley and her maid of honor were a real treat to discuss 'trendy' ideas with.. Girls like this keep me young! lol We are super excited about this new line of crystal for the trendy bride! Although we will continue to carry our crystal globes as seen in other pictures, these new hanging pieces are an exciting addition to our current collection. We have hanging crystal centerpieces, and matching huge floor standing pieces. Each piece has an option of adding fresh floral on top although they certainly make a statement all on there own! The large floor standing pieces would replace typical urns at the ceremony and then could be transferred to the reception in the entrance way, or used behind the head table to create an unforgettable focal point! Be sure to check back for pictures of her wedding!

BOLD IS BEAUTIFUL! LINDSAY AND ADAM LIVE A LITTLE!

Lindsay was every designers' dream... She was willing to step out side the box! She wanted something fresh, fun and different. Brilliant and bold shades of rasberry and fuscia were accented with hints of chartreuse green... Believe it or not,
but we were inspired to use this combination from a favorite tartan pattern of Lindsay's. A special thankyou to Mimmo and Naz photography for some awesome shots!

Orangeville bridal show and the folks that made it happen... real fast!

Well everything went well at the bridal show this weekend and I really enjoyed networking with some great vendors in the area. Shelley Heath who is an amazing make-up artist, and who also works part time at Noah Brown Bridal, came to visit and her cheerful spirit was a real blessing!
Participating in this show was a bit of a last minute decision and I would like to personally thank my 'marketing guy' Steve Owen at Resonate Creative for rushing through some flyers and for also getting this blog up and going. Steve and I have been friends for many years and I think he is now used to my 'creative ideas' that need to happen like 'yesterday' lol! Steve is also responsible for an on line directory for services and shops in Caledon called shopincaledon.com. I of course am excited about this as we now have a retail location in Caledon.
